I understand that Plastisol must be heated to cure. To me this means either invest in a conveyor ($$$) or use a DIY method (time).
I like the fact that water-based are more environmentally-friendly. What are the drawbacks of using water-based inks?

Re: Plastisol vs. Water-Based
Wed, December 6, 2006 - 12:42 PMI just picked up some Union Aerotex Inks and hope to get printing with them this week. I have heard good things about them, but have seen no long term/multi wash results. Anyone else use Aerotex? I'm not sure about flash curing for multi color printing, I'm guessing you can.

Re: Plastisol vs. Water-Based
Thu, December 14, 2006 - 6:47 AMHi Rob,
I haven't been printing for very long. I started with water based ink (speedball) and quickly moved to plastisol. The main problems I encountered with waterbased ink was opacity on dark fabrics. Otherwise, I liked the easy cleanup and ease of use that water based ink offers.
