Now iff you really really want a safe light, you will have to go to a store that speciallizes or has a darkroom department. But I myself am knew at screen printing, and one thing that I learned from a more experienced person who has done it for a living said that it isn't really neccessary. Just go to a hardware store, or even a drug store, and get a bug light. It is really just a light element that is yellow, and it gives you a comfortable amount of light, and it doesn't emit ultra violet rays. I've only worked it twice but it really did the job. -

Wed, July 16, 2008 - 4:10 AMI agree with Tedster. No specialty lighting is necessary. Even in a photographer's darkroom, they just use an ordinary incandescent bulb that is red. I think a yellow bug light works, too. LEDs would work as well. The main thing is that it can't be a flourescent tube, or anything which gives off ULTRAVIOLET light, such as a grow-light or a full spectrum bulb.

Thu, September 25, 2008 - 1:19 AMYellow flouresent tube bulb. You can buy the ballast for it for 15 euro. The bulbs are 10 euro. Thats what i use in my studio & im not getting any pin holes anymore. Totally solved that problem.
