hey everyone - i'm a new one here.
i've been diy screen printing for a long time and i just finished a batch. they were completely dry, but i was still unsure as to how well they were done, so i sent them all through the washer on the low cycle to see if they could pass that test. that ended up being a huge mistake as one or two bad ones that weren't completely dry mucked up the rest. now i've got about 20 shirts that have ink spots in many random spots and some very slightly smeared images.
i've tried taking just a rag and mineral spirits to try to wipe out some of the ink spots and it works fairly well - but not good enough.
does anyone have any further/better recommendations? what do you do if you shirt is a little sloppy or you find you've accidentally gotten in on the sleave or wherever and it is already dry? how do you get it off or do you ditch the shirt? i'd really love to save these.

Re: minor t-shirt screwups (I've got the answer)
Tue, January 16, 2007 - 10:47 AMHere is the answer. Buy a bottle of automotive Reducer (not Thinners). If you messed up a white shirt it might be a problem. The darker the shirt the better. Use a small amount of Reducer directly on the spot and rub it till it looks almost gone. Try not to let the Reducer go all over the shirt cause it causes slight fading sometimes.
