Re: anyone have a good plain t-shirt source?
Thu, March 2, 2006 - 1:50 PMsorry..i mostly do thrifty stores...I like variety.
There is a king dollar in my neighborhood that has a mountain of 100% cotton t-shirts for a dollar in large kids' and small adult sizes and really neat earthy colors..the brand name on all these shirts is "sonoma". They rock.
Maybe if you have King Dollar in your area you might wanna check them out.

Re: anyone have a good plain t-shirt source?
Sat, March 11, 2006 - 7:33 AMNot sure on the full legality of this but I've been doing it for years. I don't think it's really well known, but you can buy from the big shirt wholesalers without being a business! When you go to their site, they all have electronic registration, and when it asks for your tax ID, just use your social security number. The 2 biggest distributors I think are (edited to hopefully avoid coming up in google searches) A l p h a and B r o d e r. Like I said, I don't know if this is a grey area or what, but since I've made accounts, I've dealt with both over the phone with no problems. It'll save you money over a place like blank tees which is who I bought from when I first started printing. -

Re: anyone have a good plain t-shirt source?
Mon, March 13, 2006 - 2:07 PMYou're getting way different terms than me cause the cheapest I've seen ever was like 80 something cents and that was a promotion. Usually you're going to pay a little less than someplace like the earlier link posted, but significantly.
I guess my trying to keep the company names out of the search engine results was for nothing. -

Mon, March 13, 2006 - 2:08 PM*but NOT significantly. -

Re: anyone have a good plain t-shirt source?
Mon, March 13, 2006 - 2:36 PMToday we went and bought like $60 worth of King Dollar shirts. I am psyched! I am making a new SHFL screen right at this moment!..though I should probably wash the shirts first..because of the sizing and all. -

Re: anyone have a good plain t-shirt source?
Wed, July 12, 2006 - 9:12 AMthis is what i think.
if you want cheap shirts go to the thrift stores. t-shirts for a dollar are shady and are made by little children in abusive conditions. is it fair to make money on the backs of the poor? or grow your own cotton and learn to make a shirt. and if you can't do that then please think of using fair trade.

Re: anyone have a good plain t-shirt source?
Wed, July 12, 2006 - 3:59 PMDrew,
Just so you know, the tax ID thing that you got going on is not a grey area.
It's a crime known as "tax evasion"
It's what they sent Capone to Alcatraz for.
Just a heads up.

Re: anyone have a good plain t-shirt source?
Sun, July 16, 2006 - 6:54 AMLeave your legal advise at home. your ss# may be used as a fed tax ID or you can get the fed tax ID quite easily they both go back to you. I use my fed ID for biz tax only. If you are doing that much biz see a qualified acct. small quanities of new t's wht no pocket should b about 1.30+ship+tax -

Re: anyone have a good plain t-shirt source?
Sun, July 16, 2006 - 12:20 PMNot so. If you do not have a resale certificate, and you are not registered as a nonprofit organization then you must pay tax. Yes, using your SS# will link back to you, but only so that during an investigation you can be tracked down and brought into compliance with the law.
He is correct, though. It is super easy to get a resale cert. And it's a better idea to just do things the correct way, than to worry about having your ass handed to you later on.

Re: anyone have a good plain t-shirt source?
Sun, October 29, 2006 - 1:20 AMDoes anyone know where I can buy quality plain shirts in bulk in Canada for a reasonable price? Everytime I look for bulk shirts, all I can find is American stuff. There must be a supplier in Canada. I'd really like to avoid paying customs fees and other crap. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)
