First off, this is a great group it's helped me out a lot so far in my current project, which also happens to be my first screen printing project. I can't find any emulsion or the chemicals to mix emulsion where I live and I don't have enough time to wait for an online order to show up, but I have found a shirt company that will sell me some sheets of capillary film and I just had a few questions if anyone knows the answers. The film is Ulano CDF-4. The first question I had was what's a good way to make sure I get all the bubbles out of the mess so I don't ruin the screen, and the second question was if I do ruin the screen is it possible to reclaim a screen that has capillary film on it? I tested it on a little piece of mesh first to get the exposure time right and out of curiosity tried to reclaim it and the solvent I had didn't work, I used CitruSolv and hot water. To make a long post short, do you know of anything that can reclaim a screen that has capillary film on it.

Re: Capillary Film
Mon, March 23, 2009 - 7:47 AMthis might be too long away from your post to help. but cap film will eventually get softer in water. It does reclaim, the best solution I think is to make a bubbler. Get a large plastic tote, like a storage tote, large enough to submerse a screen in. Fill it with water and put in your screen, wait a few hours (or leave it overnight, and then try a power washer. I call it a bubbler, cause sometimes if you add bubbles it speed things up, this is an all around more effective way to reclaim screens. And if you don't want bubbles using an emulsion with you cap is best.
